I have purchased some HP Z2 Tower G9 Workstation Desktop PCs, and for some reason I cannot see the drives when trying to push an image to them. I have tried to install all the drivers from the HP drive package with no luck. I can see the drives in the bios, but when I load the bootable USB image, no luck. Any ideas?
Thanks
Derek

I could not see the settings in the bios
i have a Zbook so not sure if you have a similar bios settings but mine is under the one marked in the picture. your problem is definitly a storage driver missing in your boot image. check the motherboard manufacturer which is probably Intel for drivers. i had a similar issue with a Dell once and i got the drivers from intel and not from dell.

I found this out yesterday. Once I unchecked "Configure Storage Controller for VMD" it would then see the storage drive.

No still having an issue
In the bios --> Advanced --> System Options --> Uncheck "Configure Storage Controller for VMD"

SCCM should then see the drive, though I am not clear on the ramifications of unchecking that option (as far as performance goes).

Oddly enough I got three HP Z2 G9's many months ago and imaged all three without any issues. I happen to still have one here so just tried and it didn't recognize the SSD when I PXE booted into WinPE even though the computer already had my image on it!! So I have no idea what happened between then and now. Once I unchecked "Configure Storage Controller for VMD" as you mentioned I was able to see the C: drive in WinPE.

That is strange. I don't think that setting changed in between that time. If it did, I don't think Windows would boot (without an OS reinstall).

you dont change on already imaged PCs just the ones that you trying to PXE boot. it could be a new release of the motherboard with a new storage contoller
