Hi all,

I would like to know any methods can for force Software Center popup to users when Windows Update deployment? As I need to deploy some citrial Windows Update to users asap, but they always missed the tray icon (balloon message) or notification reminder, and they will not install update proactively, so they will take action until reboot reminder, these will deley the deployment tasks. Now I only can setup the deadline to asap, but the result not good. Could anybody can share knowledge for that?

not really sure which part you have problem with as the updates will be beployed to users at the time you choose but the restart step is for the user to choose and according to the client settings and how long they can wait. if you have a specific update to deploy then create a new ADR then force install.

Hi AhmedLS,

Thank you for your reply, my question is I want to show the Software Center Window (see my last post attached file) instead of user see the toast notification or tray icon. In many cases, users are missed. And I remember the old version SCCM/WSUS in Windows 7, this window will pop up to user proactively.

Thanks,
Stanley

if you force the update you wont have to worry about the popup. they will be installed and the user only have to choose when to restart. it seems you are not forcing the updates on your ADR.
do you have the below configured. i am not sure but i think the first one is no checked on your side as it waits for the maintenance window

Hi AhmedLS,

Yes, please see below attached screen capture for your reference,

My target is once started Windows Update deployment, Software Center window will show on the top of screen, then users will know that. Besides, I tried to use Powershell script, but seems not my cup of tea.

Thanks,
Stanley

just book in "Software updates installation" thats all. the updates will be installed without the user intervetion. the popup will show for restarts only. there is no other way around that unless you change your maintenance period on all computers. the first option is to ignore the maintenance period which will work for desktops but for laptops it wont work cos the laptop normally shuts down after work.
