My Auto Deployment Rule keeps failing with error code 0X87D20417.

I have nothing more to elaborate on, I can only tell you what the error means.

When you run the Download Software Updates wizard, both the SMS Provider machine account and the user account need write permission to the location where the updates are downloaded. The user running the console also needs internet access from the machine where the console is running.

Terribly worded error IMO, be sure the user running the console has has permission to access the internet, if there's a proxy server be sure you're authenticated to that properly. This happens to me if I forget to set proxy settings on a box where the console is installed.

Thank you all for this, I am not sure what occurred to change permissions on my Deployment Package, package source folders nor the "Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes" folders but after correcting the permissions on these folders for both of my servers, my ADR's are working again.
